Parking and Your Memphis Apartment
Jan 28th, 2008 by Memphis Apartments
Most Memphis apartment buildings will come with some sort of parking option, but this is not always the case. What you can do if you end up being in a Memphis apartment that does not offer parking options is look for alternatives that may exist in the area around your Memphis apartment building.
It can be no easy task driving around every night looking for a place to park your car. It can turn the joy of your new Memphis apartment into a huge hassle that you may have difficulty dealing with.
One of the easiest options is to simply park your car on the street. Parking on the street is usually the only option many Memphis apartment dwellers have, however you have to be sure you do not park somewhere that is going to get you in trouble.
It is important that you read signs carefully. This is not only for the reason that you can avoid a ticket, but many people will not park in a perfectly legal spot because they thought it was illegal to park there, simply because they misread the sign.
Sometimes, your landlord will have parking spots available if you are willing to pay a bit extra on your monthly rent. Depending on your budget and how badly you want a parking spot, this may be a good option to pursue.
There are also people who rent out parking spaces near their homes online. By going on the internet and checking to see where those places are, you may be able to find a pot really close to your Memphis apartment.
Sadly, not all of the options we have outlined above are going to work. You may be forced to look to alternatives that do not require you to move your car once you have found that coveted parking spot that you are going to reuse to give up no matter what.
One option you can pursue is the possibility of taking the bus to your work, and other things in the city. It is not always the best option when you have a car, and the thought of waiting for the bus in winter weather is not exactly appealing. However, you will save a great deal of money on gas, as well as wear and tear on your vehicle by taking the bus and you will not have to lose your parking spot.
Carpooling is another alternative that can be used by those who do not want to move their car from a parking spot they have found. You can either carpool with your co-workers, or you can carpool by looking for carpool ads in the paper or on the internet. There are often several websites that offer carpooling services that can be used if you do not wish to drive.
What you choose to do in terms of your vehicle really depends on where you live. If you live in the downtown core of a city and do not venture out that often, then it is unlikely that you really need a car. Instead you can take the time to simply ride the bus or take other forms of public transportation to where you need to go. However, you may need the vehicle to travel to working the town or the nearby city.
Either way, it is best to simply research your Memphis apartment and find out about parking issues before you move in. Parking can be a headache when you are dealing with a Memphis apartment, but by trying some alternatives, you can take the steps needed to ensure that headache goes away.
