How to Redecorate Your Memphis Apartment Bathroom
Dec 14th, 2007 by Memphis Apartments
Your Memphis apartment bathroom, like your kitchen, may be full of things that really can’t be moved around, so creative accessorizing is the key to decorating your bathroom.
One visit to your local bed and bath store is probably all you’ll need to realize that bath accessories come in every conceivable color, style, and theme. You can purchase completely matched sets that include everything, such as a shower curtain hooks, towels, trash cans, and a toothbrush holder. If you like a very coordinated look, these sets can be a good way to go. But I should offer you a word of caution if you’re considering buying such sets: Be careful about overdoing a theme. If every last thing in your Memphis apartment bathroom sports pink and green fishes, you may get tired of this motif after a while. If you stick with solid colors and adaptable designs, such as stripes, you may be happier with your choice for longer. You can always add splashes of other colors and themes in smaller doses with artwork and towels.
If you’re not the perfectly matched-set type, you’ll have many creative ways to accessorize your Memphis apartment bathroom. Here are some creative ideas for bathroom accessories that won’t break the bank:
• Toothpaste and toothbrush holders. Forget the plastic! Try pretty glasses, porcelain mugs, and even crystal instead.
• Candles. You haven’t known true bath-time luxuries until you’re bathed by candlelight. Try lining up scented candles along the edge or your Memphis apartment tub, and get ready for a spa like experience.
• Art. Resist the urge to buy “bathroom art.” (You’ve seen this-the little framed prints of bubble-filled tubs.) Instead choose floral prints, landscapes, or other soothing images. Art alternatives include decorative plates and wreaths.
• Lamps. A small lamp with a low-wattage bulb will help make late-night visits to the bathroom less jarring on sleepy eyes.
If your bathroom is small, your ability to rearrange things could be very limited. But rearranging can give your Memphis apartment bathroom a little lift if it needs one.
One way to start is by opening your Memphis apartment cabinets. What are you hiding in there, and does it need to be hidden? A glass vase on the counter can hold bars of soap and add a fresh clean smell to the room. You can also place toilet paper rolls in a pretty basket on the floor (or on a table, shelf, or vanity chair) beside the commode. (This makes it easy for guests to replace rolls without feeling like they’re intruding into your cabinets.) Washcloths can also come out of the linen closet too. Just roll them up and place them in a wire basket or tin bucket, and they’ll always be stylishly within reach when you need one.
