How To Erect Your Satellite TV Dish - The Solution For Memphis Apartment Tenants
Oct 15th, 2007 by Memphis Apartments
For all its seeming advantages, satellite TV has a serious constraint that has prevented many people from subscribing to the service; owners of Memphis apartment complexes often do not permit satellite equipment to be mounted on their buildings.
If you are one of such tenants in these buildings you might be thinking this is a death knell to your dream of having and enjoying a satellite TV.
But hang on a minute. Who says this should kill your dream of enjoying a Satellite TV? There is a way out.
First and foremost, you will have to get a permission slip from your Memphis apartment landlord to install your satellite system.
The fact is that you are not going to mount any equipment on the complex. The purpose of this is to prevent your eviction from your Memphis apartment because most landlords don’t want tenants to mess up their Memphis apartments with satellite dishes.
With the assurance slip in the kitty, you can then proceed to buy a bucket, a little quantity of cement, and a metal pipe not exceeding 8 feet in length. These materials will be used to erect a mount for your satellite dish within your Memphis apartment.
You can opt to bury the mount in the ground or leave it on the surface. Yes, there is some hard work involved, because you will then mix the cement with water and add it to the bucket.
The metal pipe should be positioned in the bucket in such a way that will ensure it stays erect in the cement. If possible, you can support the pipe with any object you deem fit as long as it keeps it standing straight up. Now sit back, admire your work, and allow the cement to dry. This may take up to 48 hours though.
But of course if you are not up to doing this yourself you can always hire some help.
When done, check your mini “structure” after 2 days. Does it look like a bulky bucket with an erect pipe? If the answer is in the affirmative, then you are on track.
Your next move will be to get in touch with your preferred satellite TV operator and explain your circumstance. You will probably be given two alternatives; have them install the dish, or do it alone.
The first option is highly recommended because this is more technical than just mixing cement and sand.
However, there is no harm if you decide to do it yourself. You will only have to purchase mounting brackets and a satellite compass you will need to get the correct angle of the dish. Since this is a rather tricky task, it is best to allow the technical people do it.
This is a simple solution that anyone can resort to when they want to enjoy satellite TV service but are barred by his or her Memphis Apartment landlord. But such people should endeavor to inform the Memphis apartment owners well ahead of time in order to obtain their consent.
