Feng Shui for Your Memphis Apartment

Feng Shui is all about energy. Specifically it is about harmonious energy. You cannot be in harmony with your environment if you have a cluttered or messy Memphis apartment. Your Memphis apartment reflects you. If your Memphis apartment is cluttered, you may feel depressed or discontent with your life. If your Memphis apartment is clean and organized, you will feel confident and happy.
It may seem like a chore, but you must declutter your Memphis apartment to live a harmonious life. This is not merely about cleaning. This is about getting rid of stuff you no longer need to make room for new stuff in your life. This may cause a mild panic attack, especially if you are a pack rat. But do not worry, because you will survive.
Start with a general sweep of your Memphis apartment. You will likely find lots of paper products you just do not need like stacks of newspapers, old magazines, piles of junk mail and used books. If you are not using these items, toss them. You might feel attached to your books. In this case, at least trade the old for the new. You have read your current supply of books. This becomes dead energy. Swap the books for new homes to bring positive energy into your Memphis apartment.
Now look for other piles of stuff. These could be excessive DVDs or CDs. Perhaps you are overrun with video games. Be honest with yourself. Do you really watch each of the DVDs or listen to each of the CDs on a regular basis? When was the last time you played that particular video game? Again, you can swap these items out, old for new. Or just get rid of them.
Next is your clothing. Sort your clothes into “yes”, “no”, and “maybe” piles. Then get rid of the “no” and “maybe” piles. Do not even think about it. If it is not in the “yes” pile, discard it. If you have no “no” or “maybe” piles, start again and try a little harder. Do the same with your shoes. If you have not worn the clothes or shoes in the past 6 months, you do not need them.
If you have children, let them sort their toys. Of course they will say they need to keep everything. Set guidelines for them. If the toy is broken or missing a part, it goes in the “no” pile. The toys they play with most goes in the “yes” pile. Give them the chance to sort their toys before you add to the piles.
Make sure you have no piles of laundry on the floor. Keep dirty laundry in baskets or hampers. Do not place items on window sills. You want to be able to easily open your windows and let in light and fresh air. You can spruce up your Memphis apartment by adding color throughout it. Memphis apartment plants also add energy.
Kitchens should be kept clean at all times. Clean your refrigerator at least monthly. Take the garbage out regularly. Do not use your kitchen table to hold all of the items you are trying not to accumulate – newspapers, magazines, and junk mail. Read them and throw them away.
Is there a particular room you just hate? Make this your last stop. Take a deep breath, step in to the room, and just take it in. What do you hate about it? If it is something specific, fix it. If you do not know, you might consider removing everything from the room and starting over. Completely redecorate the room. Perhaps there is a better placement for the furniture. Maybe the color scheme was all wrong. Whatever the issue, just start over and try again.
If you want to be happier, it can really be as simple as straightening up your Memphis apartment. Eliminate stuff you no longer need or use. Simplifying your space simplifies your life. You invite new energy into your Memphis apartment and into your life.
