5 Tips to Throwing A Memphis Apartment Party Without Getting In Trouble with the Law
Oct 22nd, 2007 by Memphis Apartments
Do you remember the last party that you hosted at your apartment, your favorite lite beverage in hand, drinking games, and some loud music that was probably carried to all of the surrounding Memphis apartment units. When suddenly it ends after around 3:20 a.m in the morning, a knock at the door by the local Memphis county police department asks you to break it up.
You ended the party and you thought it was over. Then a letter showed up on your door the next morning, requesting your presence in the leasing office for a little round table discussion with your Memphis apartment landlord. What would follow is probably a 30-minute unpleasant discussion on the possible non-renewal of your lease if you fail to put an end to the parties.
So now what? Now that that was over, time to think of a better party-throwing method to head off homelessness. We’ve come up with a few helpful tips that can keep you and your Memphis apartment parties out of trouble and off the radar of the Memphis police department.
Memphis Apartment Party Tip #1: Have a plan Ok, so this may be a bit more difficult than simply calling everyone up at 7 p.m. for a party at 9, but a plan can head off disaster. My favorite? “Official” poker night, complete with the hats, the coinage, and really good food…not just chips. What does this accomplish? Quieter music and the inability to dance due to the lack of room. If you keep down the sound, you’ll keep down the Memphis Police department visits.
Memphis Apartment Party Tip #2: Prepare your Memphis apartment neighbors How do you prepare them? Invite them! What does this accomplish? Lack of people to report you to your Memphis apartment landlord and Memphis Police department because they’re all involved.
Memphis Apartment Party Tip #3: Take it outside This may seem counter-intuitive. Not necessarily. A party by the pool or a grill-out can often remain a bit calmer than a party without the entire outdoor environment. Or plan a midnight volleyball or dodgeball game in a park close to your Memphis apartment and bring those tiki torches and as long as you don’t have a giant strobe light to illuminate the sky and lead your guests to the park, you should be fine. A Memphis Park hint: Stay clear of glass bottles. Most parks don’t allow them.
Memphis Apartment Party Tip #4: Plan a dinner party Have the party at a nearby Bar and Grill with live music or other entertainment. A good group of friends, great food, and some good music always means good times. And an added benefit is the ‘no cleanup’ factor.
Memphis Apartment Party Tip #5: Plan a pre-party My mom used to say that nothing good happens after midnight. She obviously has never been to a good after-party. Like Memphis Apartment Party Tip # 4, you want to go out on the town, but still want to play host at your Memphis apartment. Not a problem. Take my bit of my mom’s advice and invite friends to a pre-party instead of an after party. Then head out on the town around 11 p.m. What does this accomplish? A great start to a night out and you get to play host without upsetting your Memphis apartment neighbors.
That is our top five tips on hosting a party in your Memphis apartment without causing problems with the Memphis apartment landlord or the Memphis Police department. So think of these 5 tips when you are planning your next Memphis apartment bash.
